1. The cook’s or chef’s knife

It is the multipurpose knife, because it serves several purposes: peeling, cutting, filleting and chopping. It has a wide leaf and measures between 20 and 30 cm. long. Each part of the knife – point, middle and base – serves a different purpose. If you are going to have only one knife in your kitchen, let it be this one and you can buy knives online.

2. The peeler

It is a small knife, with a blade approximately 10 cm long. There are also with concave blade. Its small size helps to make precise cuts.

3. Filleting

This knife has a long, thin and flexible blade, which allows it to fulfill its function in the best way, since in this way it adapts to the shape of the meat. You have to be careful of the pressure that is exerted on it, so that it does not bend too much and break.

4. Boner

Similar to the fileteador, but with a shorter blade, which makes it less flexible. It is used especially to reach the parts closest to the bone of the dams or cuts, and have less waste.

It is a knife with a long, thin blade and a serrated blade. Specially designed to cut hard or crispy crust breads, but suitable for any type of bread.

6. Santoku

It is similar to the cook’s or chef’s knife, but of Japanese origin. It differs because it is slightly shorter – more manoeuvrable – and has a rounded tip. It is multipurpose.

7. Chinese knife
